Ivan Durt
Associate Director of Manhattan Schoolhouse 1624 1st Avenue
Ivan has been with Manhattan Schoolhouse since the beginning.
Prior to joining us, Ivan began his career as an economist in Peru supporting families through his work at nonprofit agencies. He then moved to New York and earned his Master’s degree from Hunter College.
After graduating, Ivan worked at a Community Based Organization supporting children ages 0 to 18, and their families. He also served a substitute teacher for the New York City Department Of Education in the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn.
He then joined the East Harlem Community Center Head Start working with 3 year olds and their parents, later switching to the Early Head Start program to support pregnant moms and children ages 0 to 3 years old (and their parents!).
Ivan wears many hats and speaks many languages, all with love.
