Daycare

Manhattan Schoolhouse daycare provides a Reggio Emilia inspired environment in which our youngest children develop loving relationships with their teachers and peers. Infants and toddlers become attached to their caregivers, which establishes a foundation of trust within each child; our children then feel confident to explore the world around them. As the children grow into preschoolers (24 months and older), the teachers facilitate creative experiences in which the children learn to collaborate with each other and express their understanding of the world. In every room of the daycare, children are provided with abundant opportunities to study natural materials and their environment. Children are taught to respect themselves and others, to learn from each other, and to express their needs and ideas kindly.

All children participate in weekly specials. Enrichment classes include: music, yoga/infant massage, dance, or gym. The children partake in outdoor time throughout the year. Our infants use strollers, and the older children take neighborhood walks and play in the nearby parks.

Manhattan Schoolhouse serves nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snack to the children beginning in the toddler program. Parents of children in the infant rooms provide all meals until the children move up.

All policies and procedures are guided by the Department of Health regulations for early childhood programs.
